30 Teabags One month supply
Warms and Dries Two atractylodes, not one
True Ban Xia Qu Not the cheaper Fa Ban Xia
Some headaches come with a heavy head, a foggy morning, and no appetite until noon. That combination isn't random — in Chinese medicine it's a recognizable pattern, and it has its own formula.
Warm Hearth is Er Chen Er Zhu Tang, a classical modification of Er Chen Tang using two kinds of atractylodes: Bai Zhu, which warms and lifts, and Cang Zhu, prized for its drying capacity. Agastache is added for extra lift.
Traditionally used where cold, damp phlegm sits in the digestion and clouds the head and sinuses — brain fog, heavy-headed headaches with fatigue, congested sinuses, and the neck or shoulder tension that often travels alongside them. Frequently accompanied by low morning appetite or mild nausea.
Key Ingredients
| Ingredient | Traditional Action |
|---|---|
|
Ban Xia Qu Fermented Pinellia |
The formula's engine. Traditionally used to transform phlegm and settle nausea. This is the original fermented preparation, not the cheaper modern substitute. |
|
Chen Pi Aged Citrus Peel |
Traditionally used to move stuck qi in the digestion and help the other herbs circulate. |
|
Fu Ling Poria |
Traditionally used to drain the dampness that feeds phlegm at its source. |
|
Bai Zhu White Atractylodes |
Warms and dries the digestion, traditionally used to lift clear qi from the gut up toward the head and lungs. |
|
Cang Zhu Red Atractylodes |
The stronger drying partner. The imperial grade used here is unusually high in volatile terpenes. |
|
Huo Xiang Agastache |
Aromatic and lifting, traditionally used to transform dampness through fragrance rather than force. |
|
Gan Cao Licorice Root |
Harmonizes the formula and traditionally supports the digestive centre. |
Most Er Chen on the market uses inferior Fa Ban Xia. Botanical Biohacking uses the original Ban Xia Qu — Pinellia fermented with ginger juice and shen qu. Harder to make, closer to the true traditional preparation. Their Huo Xiang also runs a leaf-to-stem ratio of 1:2 or better against a market standard of 1:4, and more leaf means more of the volatile oils that do the work.
How to Use
This is a seedless tea, so it doesn't need a long simmer. Steep one to five teabags in hot water and re-brew until the flavor is gone. Store cool and dry, and refrigerate after opening. If the vacuum seal is broken when it arrives, do not use it.
About the Maker
Botanical Biohacking
Botanical Biohacking builds formulas the slow way — premium herbs balanced from both the traditional and the pharmacological side, with nothing added. Their oral products contain herbs and nothing else, which is harder to manufacture and easier to trust. They currently supply more than 500 clinics across 15 countries.

Before you order
Start with our free Topical Guide, or go with what you feel. Still unsure? Call the clinic at (541) 760-9670 or email will@valleyhealthclinic.com and a practitioner will point you the right way.
