Most toners dry the skin. Red Relief Balanced doesn't — and the reason is Tremella mushroom (Snow Fungus), one of the most powerful natural humectants available and the most delicate ingredient in the formula.
Tremella mushrooms are incredibly easy to destroy during manufacturing.
Heat, standard emulsification, and conventional processing all degrade its moisturizing properties. Shu Hong adds Tremella at the end of the process — after the other herbs have been extracted — and emulsifies it separately to preserve its full potency. This is one small decision that most skincare manufacturers don't know to make. The result is a toner that genuinely seals the other herbs into the skin while rebuilding the moisture barrier rather than stripping it.

1Cleanse first
Wash your face or affected area with a gentle cleanser. Pat dry — don't rub. Apply while skin is still slightly damp for best absorption.

2Spray directly onto skin — face, neck, décolletage, or body
Close your eyes and spray directly across the face. Also safe for the neck and chest. All three Shu Hong products have been tested across the full body — no stinging, no burning on intact skin.
Tip: The only time you may feel sensation is on broken or actively open skin. If skin is compromised, apply Flare Control first, allow to dry, then follow with Balanced.

3Use 1–3 times daily — no moisturizer needed
Many users find Balanced replaces their moisturizer entirely. Use morning and evening at minimum. A midday application can be added for very dry or reactive skin.
Tip: For best results, use consistently for at least two to four weeks. Terrain regulation is cumulative — the longer you use it, the more resilient the skin becomes.

4Layer with Flare Control or Fire Control as needed
During an active flare: apply Flare Control directly to affected areas, allow to dry, then apply Balanced to the broader area to support the moisture barrier. Balanced is also used after Fire Control sessions to restore surface hydration and prevent rebound dryness.
